Scottish Cup 1990. 1 - 0 v the huns. Tommy Coyne cracker from an inch.
Thanks mate.

A bright spot in an otherwise nightmare period.

My mate had a big note on that game.

Celtic.

2/1 at home in the Scottish Cup.

Had seen him sweat other bets for larger amounts without little a care.

But as Rangers threw everthing at us in the 50 minutes injury time allowed, he was edgy to say the least.

Went of his chump at full time, a guy that would think nowt of £200 on a daft feckin horse.

St Mirren at Ibrox 1979.
My only ever visit to the old ibrox before redevelopment. A Friday night if i remember correctly. Thought the crowd was a lot more sparse than suggested in that picture though?

lolojo,
Same as you. It was my only time at Ibrox before it was redeveloped, It was a Friday night. Remember it as it was the night before I made my First Communion. Think getting taken to the game was my present. Crowd was 17 000 although as you say the terracing looks busy in the background.

the huns end was knocked down at that time and as someone in the Celtic end that night it was as full as the photo suggests.

Cheers TWG.

Remember the night quite clearly. Agree they had started on the other end but even with that 17,000 doesn't seem to cover the crowds in that picture. Game felt surreal being a friday night but my main memory was the steps. I had been virtually all around scotland by then and was used to all sorts of grounds but still remember saying to my dad that these stairs are scary. Glad i was never there with 80-90,000 particularly given what my old man told me about the place.

The friday night game im sure was followed by a monday night game at home to the minis
Mick Conroy scored the winner ,im sure the crowd for that game was under 20 thousand aswell.
