He tragically committed suicide at only 36.

The old stand had sides perpendicular to the pitch; my guess is that the board saw a chance in the design to get a few extra bob at the gate by adding a couple of hundred seats. Any benefit to front stand regulars was entirely fortuitous: when did that lot ever consider the fans?
I'd dispute that based on photographic evidence. It appears it had the same
trapezoidal shape it has to this day.

I agree there might be a slight angle at the sides (hard to tell due to the natural distortion caused by perspective), but it's not as pronounced as it was once the new cover was fitted.

I think it was the same based on the last two images in this post.

I might be in that pic; sitting in the stand in front of the first wall next to exit. Where's the FBI when you need a useful image enhanced?

I was 10, and it was the only time my father ever took me to Celtic Park (he wasn't much of a football man), and he grumbled because it was the same day that Scotland beat England 2-1 at Wembley, and he thought the game would be on tv, but it wasn't. They only showed the Hampden games v England then. Baxter scored both goals and Caldow broke his leg.

It is definitely Ronnie Simpson in goals for Hibs.

Some great photos on this thread, thanks.

My favourite is this one, where the girl is smoking a tiny arm-shaped joint. Nimble fingers!
