Robert Fleck was an ugly hun bassa, couldn't stand him
Reading the article there about the hundreds of huns in The Celtic End, was this the game they escorted them round the track and into the hun End :cuckoo:
Sure was GR , i remember seeing a big hun i knew from the Gorbals in the queue , itapped him
on the shoulder and politley and quietly told him to fek off ,i could have done worse
but thats the difference between us and them .

Gorbals Urchin,
That is the Brogan goal you are talking about. Always remember my dad talking fondly of that goal. He had a liking for Brogan. Said he was a right hard player.
My Dad would have filled an eleven with Jim Brogan's, Jack Charlton's, Bertie Auld's and Nobby Stiles'.

Brogan was as tough as the toughest thing from Toughland.

He was that tough.
Think I may have posted before about Brogan and Frank Welsh but can't remember - auld bassa

Anyways Jock had Welsh playing at Left half (he was a CH) in one of his first games at CP I think it was against Killie (may even have been his first game ) - Jim Brogan was at Left Back and down at the front as you did in those days you could hear Jim trying to guide Welsh on early doors - The Killie winger took the ball up to Welsh and skinned him then cut inside to the echo of Jim shouting "Feckin' take him son" - Next time the guy does the same and Brogan screams this time "Take him just feckin' take him" - Third time the guy does the same to Welsh but instead of cutting inside goes down the line against Brogan - The ball,Killie player and Jim all end up in the track (like Davie Hay sorting out Greig for those who witnessed that :rocker: ) - The Killie player lies fecked on the track and Jim jumps up running back all innocent into position as if nothing had happened and shouts to Welsh "That's how you feckin' take him, son"

One hard fearless man was Jim Brogan. :worthy:
Had not heard that story about Brogan CB :worthy:

As hard as they come and a gentleman, except when he sticks the boot into ten therty.

I vaguely mind the game although in my head it was Munro that let in Archdeacon for his goal. Dont mind anything about the pitch invasion by the huns i assume there is no TV footage of this.

Going back to Jim Brogan CB, have never met him but my sisters boy worked as his chef for about 5 yr , says Jim was generous to a fault and was forever giving the regulars money, when the family took over the pub they sacked my nephew when they seen what Jim had be paying him all they years  seemingly hes a very modest guy who hardly ever talks about his own career, a great team player

It wasJimmy Nicholl who ballsed it up for Archdeacon's goal. :rocker:

When McClair was asked what the invading hun said to him he said that he didn't know as he didn't speak the same language.

I also remember a lot of huns mouthing about getting Celtic end tickets but it didn't come to anything. When McCoist scored there wasn't any cheering.

Funny how they are crap now and and spare tickets for the Rangers end tomorrow are all over the place.
