You were a wonderful talent and genuinely the real deal,Brian - Danny McGrain and plenty of others like myself will never forgive McVie a thug who made some of the hun hammer throwers look like players.- I am not usually one to bear a grudge or be vindictive but I still get angry thinking about it and I sincerely hope that bastard McVie got his comeuppance somewhere in his life.

Brian McLaughlin RIP
:worthy:

Visited his graveside, spent the afternoon hunting for it, not only for the stories I had heard of how nice a guy he was but he was at St Mungos with ma Old Dear and later was friends with my Da who ran 'doors' at dances and was a school chum of Davie Cattanach (St Modans). Sure I have this the right way round, I think Davie went to St Modans and Eddie Cattanach went to St Mungos :ponder: If I mind right my folks were part of a crowd that all ran about back then, Davie Hay, Alex Smith included.
My Old Dear was quite upset when Brian died saying 'he was a lovely fella, who just wanted to be happy'

RIP Brian
Glasgow Road, your correct, Davie and his brother James went to St Modans while wee Edds went to St Mungo's,Eddie was one of my best mates, broke my heart when he died.We wereinthe the same school team and juvenile team( Grangemouth International)both fantastic teams. Memories

Is that the 'Shed' before it had a roof??

As a wee Bhoy I always loved Tannadice, still do to be fair :) Great memories.

Am I going daft or does anyone else remember a game around 84-85 when What Every Wants were the match sponsor, it was in December I think (I'm sure we lost 1-0) anyway Danny McGrain and Hamish McAlpine had a black bag each full of scarf's and were walking round the track dishing them out to the weans (I was at the front of The Shed) it did happen didn't it :suspect:
I seem to remember scarves being handed out at cp around that time, mabe a bit earlier :ponder:
Can't recall why though.

Snowy, indeed I do,Barney also played in the same two teams as myself and Eddie and remains a friend to this day,he's working at Alexanders at the moment. You will know he went to Australia in the Seventies with big Geordie Laurie to play football.Great guy  In answer to the Alex Smith question,no he didn't train us,it was Davie Cattenach who trained us,handout of 16 guys fourteen went senior with different levels of success, sadly, none of us really hit the heights but a few played at a decent level

Not sure about scarves but replica tops were definitely chucked into the crowd by both teams at Tannadice for the one of the games in 85/86.

Can't say for definite it was the December 23rd 85 game (we lost 1-0) or the 4th of Jan 86 game (we lost 4-2). My memory seems to think it was the 4th of Jan game but the 23rd would probably make more sense, even though that was a rearranged game.

The Celtic players came out of the tunnel and started chucking tops into the crowd for fans who were on the left hand side of the goal...I was on the right hand side  although to be fair, probably for the best, I'd have been trampled the stampede! I can still picture Brian McClair throwing a jersey into the crowd.

Whether the captains were chucking scarves in as well I'm not sure...might have been.

Pat McCluskey captain at Tynecastle 1976.

Top pic is a rarity - The Idle Idol and he is actually moving in it

What a talent Andy Ritchie had - Once saw him score 8 in a Reserve match and I doubt he broke sweat.

Think the Arab is Graeme Payne?

Could be the night we won 1-0 at Pittodrie and the Celtic support refused to leave; the Polis had the stadium lights turned off, but the entire Celtic End was suddenly lit by thousands of lighters being held aloft. It was kinda like an REO Speedwagon concert.
