Did the crowd not call out Michael Kelly's name when the fox appeared, or was that just what I hoped would happen?
Think that might have been the night of the Bhoycott against Killie when a fox appeared ,
either a 0 0 draw or a 1 0 victory .

Think McAdam scored 8 against the huns:

1977 nov h 1-1 1
1978 sep h 3-1 2
1978 dec n 2-3 1
1979 aug a 2-2 1
1981 sep a 2-0 1
1981 nov h 3-3 1
1982 apr h 2-1 1

Good going for a guy who played mostly at centre half.
Sure big Tam also scored the equaliser in the 4-2 win at Ibrox in May 1983. I also recall him having a perfeclty good goal disallowed v der hun at Parkhead -finished 1-1 in 84 I think.
Correct ! He also had a goal disallowed in the Nov 77 game which finished 1-1. Big controversy it was at the time.

Different fox

My image was the one that turned up in 1996, think it was the original fox's son who after years of lying in a lair in the cemetery listening to his Da's old stories of when he played on the hallowed turf thought ''this is my night'' and didn't he pick an action packed night to turn up!!

Didn't know we signed him from St Mirren. Trying to think of some more signed from St Mirren but can't think of any.
On the St Mirren theme, Jim Goodwin theie current captain.

Yep Goodwin in the team pic with Jamie Smith,Barry John Corr etc is the current St.Mirren Captain.

Denis Connaghan and Sammy Wilson* come to mind as players along with Johnny Gibson that we signed from St.Mirren - If fatboab wanders on to this thread at sometime you and I will most likely be getting a holiday for talking about Gibson  on this forum.

*Sammy Wilson the scorer in the 7-1 game is not a "Jim Carrey died bastard" as I keep getting told - He had a hotel in Inverness but is now retired living quietly in Birkenshaw - Sits in the back row at Mass at John The Baptist and very few knows who he is.

Appreciate that CaltonBhoy. Could think of a few who had played for both clubs but not any we had signed from St Mirren.
Regards to Samyy Wilson. One Johnny Gibson.

Don't know about a hat-trick but I know he scored a double for Thistle when they beat the huns :taxmancometh: :taxmancometh2: 3-2 in a game at Firhill - Think it was a Cup game - Made up a wee bit for how gash he was with us. ;)

Partick beat the huns 3-2 on 4/9/71 the first league game of the season. Gibson scored twice and this made his name.

Didn't get a chance with us.
