I'm thinking that's the Cardigan there, on the right?
Think so.

Seem to recall he tried to hold Yogi back from a rampaging run during a particularly mud-spattered game and was dragged through the glaur (?of Tannadice?) for about 15 yards before having to let go of Yogi's top :)

That was Jimmy Millar who got a 'free ride' courtesy of Yogi; IIRC Pat McMahon made his debut and scored two that day in a 3-1 win in the pishing rain at Tannadice. Other ex-huns in the DU line-up included Wilson Wood and Davie Wilson... and possibly Roger Hynd*.

* He made John Greig look like Maldini.

The 8-0 game?

Or the 2-0 defeat later that season. :suspect:
Definitely the 8-0 game as we only wore that version of the away strip (with the
Centenary Cross badge and CR Smith in green letters) during the calender year
of 1988. From January 89 we wore the yellow with green arrows effort.

From the 2-0 defeat:

I am normally pretty good with things like that, but cheers.

The "Space invader top" IIRC made its debut in a 3-0 or 3-1 at Easter Rd in the January.

Adam McLean scorer of Celtic's 2000th league goal, McGrory the 3000th, Delaney the 4000th and Murdoch the 6000th. Ithink that is right

Tam McAdam used to score fairly regularly against the huns as I recall.

In fact, and I might now be wrong what with the likes of the KoK being around, but I'm sure at one stage he was up there with out top post-war scorers against rangers.

Can anyone confirm or contradict?...
Think McAdam scored 8 against the huns:

1977 nov h 1-1 1
1978 sep h 3-1 2
1978 dec n 2-3 1
1979 aug a 2-2 1
1981 sep a 2-0 1
1981 nov h 3-3 1
1982 apr h 2-1 1

Good going for a guy who played mostly at centre half.
That's a pretty mental record for anyone, never mind a centre half!

So he must have just about averaged one a season then?

I'm off to check if the wiki has anything on top scorers against rangers. There can't be many in the last 50 years with many more than 8. :ponder:

Frank Brogan is credited with the 5000th.
