I thought Frankie Miller, but the photo description says Frankie Burns :ponder:
Can only assume the Burns bit was transposed from Tommy's name being written
down at the same time :ponder:
Frankie Miller performed a wee gig at Jinky's pub in Wishaw (JJ's?)
and was then invited by Jimmy to Celtic Park
I cannot recall Jinky having a pub in Wishaw. Can anyone supply any more details on this JJ boozer?

I eventually found the thread I started a year and a bit ago.

It contains the mags that are up on the wiki and other scans like

which I haven't had time to put on the wiki yet.

Ah got the "JJ's pub in Wishaw" bit fae the GlesgaPal website, and
as I am not overly familiar with that area, I had no reason to question
the geography - so apologies tae Lanarkshire residents

You mean qualified from the round rather than won the game in question.
We did after all lose 3 goals.
:nono:
If we scored that night and went through would we, the support, have escaped unhurt.
I was sitting to right of the goalmouth shown, maybe 10 rows of seats with terracing in front of us.
Great seats provided by Universal Travel, maybe twenty of us surrounded by Madrid's version of the Blue Order.
:suspect:
If George McCluskey had scored that night, 5pm kick off, i doubt our small section of the several thousand Celtic fans there that night would have made it out the stadium.
:arrr:

Was there bother at that game i seem to remember my old man ''missed his flight'' and came home with a black eye.
I can vaguely remember we had tickets for near the front but we got herded up in the gods and the locals were throwing everything at us they could get their hands on.

Scary stuff considering back home it used to rain wine bottles at some games but at least at home you knew where home was in Madrid that evening trying to find our mini-bus after the game was one of the scariest moments of my life after Juventus (same era) of course.
