Sorted - it was annoying me

The Celtic player in the background looks like Gemmell whereas the hun looks like Orjan Persson.

In the foreground, I think the keeper is Simpson and the player that Ferguson's jumping into could be either Willie O'Neill or Jim Brogan.

Great photos GR
What is Joe Miller, playing for Aberdeen, doing in the background?
:ponder: That's a good point, don't ever remember our ball boys wearing red. Generally it was green or black.

Which kinda suggests it is a game at Hampden, where Queens Park/SFA provided the ball boys etc.?

Also, that particular Hun strip first got worne at the 1969 Scottish Cup Final.
We were 3-0 up at H-T and easy 4-0 winners come F-T.

They took a few years to recover from such a dent to their WATP confidence.

Good call

It could well be the 1969 Cup Final.

Although we won 4-0 it wasn't quite as easy as you suggest (a bit like the 6-2 game if you like). Things just went our way that day. They had plenty of the play and that wee bastard Willie Johnston caused us plenty of problems, just as he always did.

I don't but then it wasn't something I'd have paid attention to all those years ago.

Old enclosure at CP, and that looks like Brogans nose rather than Wullie ONeills. Dunno about the ball boy thing, I was thrown a wee bit as"the ball boy" could pass for Alfie Conn.

Almost certainly this was a League cup game at parkhead which we won 1-0 Willie Wallace scoring, went onto win it 6-2 against Hibs, could be Jim Brogan or Big Willie as both played, think its big willie going by the ear, still wondering who that celtic player in the background is?

edit} looks like Cattanach, maybe he came on as sub

I'm always torn when I see pics like that one. On the one hand, it reinforces how much Celtic Park needed to be modernized; on the other, it shows the place where I first came to love the club and where I saw many wonderful wins...

what surprises me looking back at that, the Rangers End roof is far bigger than the Celtic End, in the ground back then I always took the Celtic End as being bigger.
