This debate has happened before, not in this thread though, did we not have an Irish trialist named Tracey
GR - Now that we have photographic evidence that Casey was actually a sub the Tracey thing is definitely a misprint.

Great picture
That's one of the best football photos i've seen in years.

Edit to say: Also very strange to see Big Billy in anything other than the hoops.

Agreed, although it is 'non Tic' and International Football holds no interest to me, that image is outstanding :worthy: 2 icons of the game complete with T-Ball's

Even as a Scot I can appreciate there was something almost imperious about that England strip back then.

Think that is Ray Treacy, who was a trialist from Shamrock Rovers.

Ray Treacy (born 18 June 1946 in Dublin), is an Irish former professional footballer.

That would have made him 32 in the JS testimonial.

Neither of those look 32; or do they? :ponder:

When we signed Conroy i don't think Baines was at Celtic,

So that would rule out Conroy,

I could be wrong as well !
TS - Baines played 10 games in season 1978/79 and Conroy 28 games but they never played together ! In March 1979 Roy went back to Morton.
Wow ! cheers for that mate,

I just couldn't remember Conroy and Baines playing in the same team,

I was nearly right

Ramon Wilson,
Seriously?

The Esso World Cup Coins just called him 'Ray'

Was he, by any chance, related to our very own 'Ramon, Ramon, Ramon, Ramon, Ramon ,Ramon,Ramon, Ramon,Vega'?

Or was he actually Mexican and not Swiss?

I noticed that as well - Wiki  states:

Ramon "Ray" Wilson MBE (born 17 December 1934) is a former footballer who played at left back. He was a member of the England team that won the 1966 World Cup. He was born in Shirebrook, Derbyshire.
