Would have been superb to see the late great Bobby Murdoch pick up a trophy as Celtic captain.

What a player he was.

The absence of Big Billy that day was a key factor in Thistle winning; that said - although I didn't think so at the time - every wee team deserves a glory day. Every shot they had on target went in... one of those weird days that defied every pre-match prediction.

Thought this was worth a bump.

Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.[/quote]From John Rafferty in The Scotsman in that article ;

The cause of Jock Stein’s anger at Stirling was the sight of an Irish tricolour and the chanting, with handclapping, of "IRA."

Anyone remember if that's accurate?

I've been on this thread many , many times and each time have become so engrossed in the material that I'd forgotten to say thanks . So I'd like to just take a moment to say that this thread , with all it's fantastic memories, and the obvious commitment to it's success from the guys who maintain and administer it , just make me very proud to be a Celtic supporter. It's easy to forget what has gone before as you get older , but this is a wonderful walk through our history and keeps the past , good and not so good , fresh in the mind. It's a testament to what we are about as a club , and defines the line ...." if you know your history " . Many thanks to everyone who has had a hand in it , please keep it up.

Wee Johnston was a great player but he could be a nasty bit of work.

Thanks for that Marlowbhoy, much appreciated. I'm sure Ispeak for the rest when I say we enjoy putting the stuff on and there's plenty to come.
