Yeah it is, up until the late 70's it was the home teams who used to change their strips if there was a colour clash

Wee question, always thought John Clark was vice captain to Cesar, can anyone confirm this. Moch, G/R, Caltonbhoy.

Off topic I know.
think it was Colin Todd :ph43r:

I don't know for sure , but would say no. Billy was The Captain and if he wasn't playing , someone just got the job of tossing the coin .
You 100% sticking your reputation on Colin Todd? :ph43r:

I agree with your take on the Captaincy in Billy's absence I don't think they had one as they were their own leaders - The one that does come to mind is the Thistle Final as Jock loved Bobby Murdoch and I think he wanted Bobby to lift the Cup - That plan didn't work out too well!!! :(

Truth was the Thistle game was just one of those games were things go against you and the other team deserve to win on the day - Less than a month later we went to Firhill and battered Thistle 5-1 and I believe that was Celtic letting them off lightly from what my Dad told me.

We had too many of those days in the early 70s. Between 1970 & 1973 Celtic were in 12 Cup Finals and lost 10 ! of them.

Romania, v Politecnica Timisoara. :nono:
Yep, 38 years later and a few fans who made the trip are still around. One chap was even in Africa a few weeks back with the Celtic foundation.

We played Hibs ,Ayr ,and Dunfermline a few time without change
of tops for both sides around this time , maybe they left it up to
the referees discretion .

That's exactly what it was and why it's was the home team that changed, they would have had the change available at their ground if required and saved the visiting team lugging 2 sets of kit just in case the ref decided there was a clash
