V Arbroath, 71?
Judging by the clothes and the amount of bar scarves possibly slightly later 73/75

Wonder if Butcher ever told his Hun mates he was
wearing a Celtic scarf or two that night.
I'm sure I remember Hunter as a big Hun,so wondering why he would have Celtic for his testimonial, probably the large travelling support.
Went to both the Hunter testimonial and sammy Nelson and in both programmes the person they wanted to meet was the Queen!I think as you say they chose Celtic for the large travelling support since I don't think the Huns were allowed in England after the riots by their fans over the years.

Didn't play them 71 but played them in August 72 and December 72 ,could be the latter going with clothes being worn.

Didn't Danny McGrain score against Arbroath in one of the '72 games?

I know I was at one of them, as my dad and uncle took me - the first time they had been allowed to be in charge of me by themselves since conspiring to drop me on my head as a baby some 5 years earlier.

Which may explain a lot...

Aye, looks like it.

a wee search on the wiki, brings up this

http://www.thecelticwiki.com/page/1951-09-12%3A+Celtic+3-3+Newcastle+United%2C+Friendly

a 3-3 draw between the Scottish cup and FA cup holders

I remember Danny scoring up there as I had him in the sweep :) Also remember juking under the barrier and onto the pitch at full time. I think it was a few years later, possibly 76 or 77.
