This is really sad. I remember Jim as a player. He took no prisoners. We used to chant, 'Brogies gonna get you!'. There was more to his game than that though.
I know his daughter Colette.
She is quite angry the way Celtic treated him as a player and she made it clear to me that she has no time for football and no particular affection for Celtic. Such a shame. Colette is a good woman and whilst I don't know any other family members, I'm of the impression they are a very good family indeed.

Massive respect to them all.
I remember when I was a kid listening to David Francie commentating at a new year game against the hun.in injury time I could barely make him out due to the roar of the crowd.i did pick up that BRogan had scored.I was certain it was an og Then unbridled joy as I rolled around on the carpet of my mother's room , we only had waxcloth flooring in our room so listened to the radio in mammy,s room. On a serious note I hope that someone in the club or fan groups can do something to repair the hurt felt by the BRogan family. Sad to a legend,s family having no love for the club.

The old board treated a lot of ex Celtic players and managers disgracefully but thankfully the old board are no longer there. Its sad to see Jim having dementia and it wouldn't surprise me if heading the ball contributed to this.

He must spend a fortune on polish
:ponder:

I would like to think that every Celtic artefact in the image is still with the club but I know that is certainly not the case, the silver ship in the background lies safely if not comfortably in my own private collection even although it was presented to our club by Sporting Lisbon in 1983.

On a personal note I have approached Celtic, not to offer the ship back but to do a Inventory of every item of memorabilia inside Celtic Park, it would be a massive task but me and someone else who has vast experience of cataloguing have offered our services for free, or for the love of the club as I put it.

We still await their answer.
I would love a look at that.

Cheers.

If you don't mind answering how can a gift to Celtic fall out of the clubs possession?

Please feel free to ignore me or if you prefer I'll see you next season. I'm very interested in club memorabilia.

Your guess is as good as mine.

I am also interested in the Clubs memorabilia that's why i purchased this ship from a collector who had it on long term loan to my club.

I was at a meeting in the Celtic club (London rd) back in the 80s and in
the meeting room there were hundreds of trophies from all over the world
that had been won by Celtic boys club .

Nah, think you're right.

We wore a brilliant all yellow strip that night, for the one and only time.

Remember Big Stein bangin' on about how it was gonna be a strip the likes of which had ne'r been seen, before the game, trying to drum up a bigger crowd

And that looks (in black and white :ph43r: ) like that strip that I saw at the game :)

Strip was ne'r seen agin, right enough

Totally agree with that sentiment and will never forgive that Celtic board for the way in which Jock Stein was treated.
