that looks like the Lions Farewell v Clyde, when the new South Stand was about to be built.

Ronnie Simpson was injured, but came on with the team to say farewell, and he was replaced for the actual game by, if I recall, Evan Williams.
I think we won 7-0. I was in the hun end.

I was there also. Think it might have been 6-0, and Bertie sat on the ball. :worthy:

Bertie did sit on the ball against Clyde; but it was in the 0-0 draw at Shawfield in the 1968/69 Scottish Cup (Wednesday 4pm kick off  ) where Ronnie Simpson injured his shoulder, and Big Tam had to go in goal. We spent the rest of the game defending, retaining possession and trying to sneak a goal. Even with a man advantage, Clyde were ultra-cautious; Bertie had the ball in their half with the nearest opponent about 15 yards away, so he momentarily sat on the ball twice trying to invite a Clyde player to come and make a challenge. We won the replay 4-0; the Shawfield game was Faither's last game, I think.

Excellent pics of the roof of the Celtic End going up in 1957 appears to show that the terracing was extended to accommodate the roof.
First time i've ever saw evidence of this or even heard of it.

I think it was 5-0  Don't think Faither actually took part in the match (or was replaced during the game)

Nought wrote on the back

Had this photo for years and always thought it was the last league game of the season when we beat the Killie, Faither never played that day probably the only game he missed, Fallon was in goal but Faither came on to give us a wave at the end, im sure the 6-0 Clyde game was well after we brought the Big Cup back. :worthy:
