Always find Ian Young interesting.A player very rarely mentioned,even now that finally that other players are being mentioned as Lions.More than 160 appearances,he played in two. european semis.He seems to over shadowed by Wullie O'Neil as back up right back,even though Wullie only played half the games Young did.

Always find Ian Young interesting.A player very rarely mentioned,even now that finally that other players are being mentioned as Lions.More than 160 appearances,he played in two. european semis.He seems to over shadowed by Wullie O'Neil as back up right back,even though Wullie only played half the games Young did.
I don't think he played in any games that year which is maybe why he isn't mentioned.He is a legend for his famous tackle on Willie Johnston if nothing else.

Celtic Underground podcast had an interesting and thought provoking interview with Ian Young last year.

Well worth a listen :thumbsup:
