It's Jimmy Sirrel, played for us in the late 40's, he is best known for being manager of Notts County. He got them up into the old First Division back.in the late 70's.

The sheep player looks handy.
Frank McDougall tore us apart one day up in sheepsville ,I also played against
him up at Springburn way he was at the side of the park having a smoke then
came on against us.
When Charlie Gallagher the Lisbon Lion was scouting for Celtic he watched McDougall playing for Glasgow Perthsire several times and recommended him to Celtic - Celtic were on the verge of signing him and everything had been agreed when Desmond White got wind of the "bus incident" and kyboshed the deal as he deemed McDougall wasn't suitable for Celtic - McDougall had been visiting his Granny who was in the Western Infirmary and was on the bus on the way home when some fuds fired bricks at the bus and the broken glass window left shards of glass in his eyes which required a lot of surgery - This was when he was about 14 and McDougall was totally innocent but White in his infamous wisdom deemed him unsuitable because of it.

Charlie Gallagher chucked the scouting because of it - Cesar then comes in as a Manager asks Charlie why he rapped the scouting and Charlie told him - Cesar then informed Charlie that he put in an offer of £120k to St.Mirren for McDougall.

Anyways he was a cracking striker and would have scored barrow loads for Celtic - As Joe McBride said when downplaying his record at Celtic the season he got injured at Pittodrie just before Christmas - "Celtic create more chances than any other team it stands to reason you should be able to put away more when playing for Celtic" - McDougall would have been like that for Celtic.

It's true that big Billy bid £120,000 for MacDougall. It's also true that St Mirren outbid us and paid £140,000 for him which sums Celtic up in those days.

So who would be the players talking?
Not top names, because they get interviewed all the time and we all probably know their stories, but with a few years at the club.
So the likes of Mark McNally, Brian O'Neil, Tommy Johnston, Stephan Mahe?
Pat Stanton and Billy Stark were probably the biggest names in the original.

My copy is in Donegal so can't check but did Stanton do a chapter? I think I would have remembered that?

Anyways there is a hardback copy available just now on Amazon for £3.78 - I would recommend it.
