Welcome back CE. Hope you're well
thank you, ruptured & protruding disc, from playing indoor football for thirty plus years, my wife has threatened to divorce me if I attempt another comeback. I'm still hoping a Celtic scout will spot me, especially if we sell Mussa for £34m. we could do with a fat center forward who isn't able to move outside the box

This shows the depth of talent in the Premier league back then. The five non-Celts were superb talents.Bremner always reminded me of the laughing cavalier on McEwans export cans.

Johnston was a decent player but a dirty horrible Hun who was responsible for the hatred between the Huns and Aberdeen.

Jim Craig told an interesting story about Johnston being responsible for provoking him into whacking him and getting sent off.

He said Johnston hung about outside the stadium after the game and came up and apologised for doing it.

I took Russian at school for a short, unsuccessful spell - remember very little of it but can still read it phonetically.

The caption in the previous photo refers (in capitals) to "D. Stein" (there's no letter J in Russian) & "Murdoch". Not sure what the last word in capitals is meant to be but it reads as "Svardelloy" - maybe the linesman in the picture?

The two words in large capitals at the top of the last photo say "Champions Europe" and it looks like a report of our away game v Dinamo Kiev.

The box at the bottom right shoes the teams & goalscorers - Lennox & Bishovets.

We have had some truly absolutely top level greats like The Lions,Dalglish,Henrik,Samaras but in my lifetime Danny :worthy: is the only one who for a period was universally acknowledged as THE BEST in his position and there was plenty of world class right backs around at the time - Not too shabby for a Bhoy who never really thought he was good enough to make it in football.

I would like to think James Edward was the best cf in the world in his era but I suppose only Glasgow Road will know.
