   With those sideburns he always reminded me of the werewolves in that mad Carry On Screaming film with Jim Dale. Always fondly referred to as "that wee humphy-backed bastard" by old man.

Bobby Clark saves from Lennox and Doyle 1980.
Future Celtic Manager covering the right hand post for the Sheep. :suspect:
The other Dons are Clark (?)(did he play with WGS?) Simpson, (no 4) and who's on the goal line??
Think no 4 is Big Feck.

anyone got any old photos of the home and away games in old league cup section games v stranraer in 1972 , i went to both games , the first one at stair park if i remember rightly started at 4.30 or 5pm as stranraer had no floodlights in those days and i had to run home from school and get changed before my ma let me go to the game , i even had to avoid a train as i ran accross the track to get to the park  oh the old days

Forgive me if this tangent turns out to be gibberish, but was Terry Neill manager of The H'Arsenel at this time? I ask because I can remember reading a front page shocker in the Sunday People that told of Terry Neill visiting a 'dodgy bar' whilst in Australia with the club and unwittingly shagging a transsexual. My Dad refused to explain to me what a transsexual was!

Whiteside is a Stranraer cult hero, who moved onto Australia, can't mind his nickname...Big.... something???

This is the only Stranraer cult hero I know  Was down in 2000/01 I think, maybe year before for SC tie, left at HT as I was sinking into the grass verge (terrace) behind the goal......poor excuse........ I was choking for a pint and wandered into some wee boozer where I met a couple of Stair Park historians who told their tales of Billy Whiteside, I supped a pint of heavy as Larsson and Moravcik were 100 yards away :ph43r:

that was the stranraer team i watch as a boy , my first game at cp would have been 70 or 71 in the old enclosure where the front of main stand is now ,my uncle took me and i cant even remember who it was against , my main memories was the ground size and i had never seen so many people in my life , coming from stranraer this was like a new world , the colours and only vivid memory of game was that the celtic keeper might have been fallon got a thumb or finger injury , i just spent the whole day in awe and that was me hooked , been coming to cp ever since and missed very few games in the last 40 years , even from down there. so if anyone out there can remember a game before the new roof went on main stand where celtic goalie had a hand injury i`d be delighted
