Caption claims to be Celtic v huns, guy on the right draped in union jack plus a few of what seems to be nazi salutes from that side definately points to the orcs but the two groups of supporters seem incredibly close together with little or no police to keep them apart?
That's the big enclosure at Easter Road late 1970s.

Love to see the police cope with that situation now.

Pretty sure this one has come up before CE. I have a feeling it turned to be Hibs fans rather than us.

Thank you for the info, would I be right in saying that there would have been no way us & the old huns would have been let that close to each other back then?

The football version of Palm Sunday.

The crucifixion came three games later.

Strangely - there were no Celtic players in the 1978 World Cup Squad.

Most were playing for English clubs, with 3 huns, 3 sheep and Alan Rough from the jags.

If McGrain had been fit he would have been there. No-one else deserved it. We were rotten that year.

Yep, totally agree - just pointing it out for our 'younger' members.

I suppose the only other possible player that had the ability to make the squad, was a 30+ year old Stanton - but he was gubbed as well, unfortunately.

Before my time at ipox the terraces at what is now the Govan stand didn't have any segregation and a Hun at work told me that he would talk with his friends who were Celtic fans in the Celtic side of the enclosure and then move to the Rangers side before the kick off.In those days violence was far worse but wasn't organised and any violence usually occurred because of what was happening on the field. The hardcore supporters would go behind the goals at ipox.
