Ha ha! Nope.

I imagine he took me to the game, though I don't remember it.

I DO remember being with him in The Shed (the old United fans end) in March(?) 1980, when we got gubbed 3-0. Had to hide my scarf under my parka.
Love the pics from that era even though the team where pretty gash that year I
very rarely missed a game and we always had a big away support ,I always try
and find someone off our bus in the crowd .
I'm the same. We took some support to Tannadice in those days.

Sure did and the big steep terrace at the side could be terrifying at times .

OG those are outstanding. :worthy: Looks like 1-0 win at Tannadice March 1978.

Any more of other games ?
The last pic there ants who is the other Celt Roddy Sneddon,? Fillipi maybe.
Its Frank Munro.

Dundee Utd:
McAlpinem, Rennie, Kopel, Fleming, Hegarty, Narey, Sturrock (Dodds), Holt, Bourke (Rolland), Kirkwood, Payne.

Celtic:
Latchford, Sneddon, Dowie, Munro (Filippi), MacDonald, Aitken, G McCluskey, Edvaldsson, Craig, Burns, McAdam. Sub: Wilson.
Scorer: Narey (OG 69)

Referee: D S Downie (Edinburgh)
Attendance: 12,771
When I was in Primary 7, Alex Rennie (if I remember correctly) was the coach of our school football team. Hegarty was the coach of our hated and deadly rivals.

In our only pre-season friendly, they gubbed us 5-1, aided greatly by the referee - Hegarty. There were ropes instead of crossbars, as they had not been delivered on time.

Naturally, we did the league and cup double that year, surpassing the supposedly outstanding team our school had from the previous year.

IMHO, we would have wiped the floor with them.

The chap in the raincoat may be Sir Peter Meldrum, Provost of Glasgow. Is it the New Years Day match in 1965? Did we wear white socks as far back as then?

Bit of a puzzler. Paul Dykes put this on Twitter.

Does anyone know where this is ? :ponder:

Looks like it's preparation for a game as they have full strips on.
