Definitely Hampden with the square goalposts toss up what game thinking Andy Lynches penalty was scored into the other corner of the goal don't know where the ball finished up to busy celebrating.
Andy's penalty did go in that side

but on a muddy wet Hampden , this looks a nice day! I'd go for the Dryburgh Cup in 74

Not the Dryburgh Cup - that was a scorching hot summers day and riot afterwards!
Gubbed them inside and outside
Anyone remember the old prefabs at the back of the Celtic end? All those wee picket fences got ripped up and used as we bravely defended ourselves against rampaging Huns , who were slightly miffed about getting done on penalties after we missed an early one in the shoot out
Sometimes think that the trouble outside that day, was the reason most of the police were outside in 1980, when the Huns kicked off inside the ground and started attacking wee boys
The Andy Lynch pen is the CF - that was a crap day in May- weather wise!
Was always a good day when we beat the old Huns - it's something I miss now they're pan breid

77 Scottish Cup Final.

Lynch was only in the door and iirc was injured at the time of 1974 Dryburgh Cup Final

The guy next to the kid with the burgundy sweater to the edge of the left hand of the pic is wearing the centenary hoops. If you look closely you can pick out the raised collar and the mini-diamond pattern on the material.

Plus again, I was at all of these games, and the opening Old Firm game of the 1986/87 season (1-0 to the nasties with Durrant scoring as the game entered it's final quarter) was played with a distinct lack of sun. The conditions were overcast, so this picture is not from then.

I'm willing to bet it is the 2-2 draw in October 1987.
I have to disagree.
The October 87 game was very sunny as you said(I was yellow section Broomloan rear for it). This looks more over cast.
The strip look sto me to be the one with the over lapping collar.
I'm pretty certain it is August 86.
Its a Centenary strip. You can tell by the texture of the material. Mini diamonds/squares.

I'd bet money that it is October 1987.

Owen Archdeacon on the right, possibly Tony Shepherd on the left?

No, definitely the 77 cup final.

I celebrated the victory at a Communist Party do in the East Kilbride community hall.
The weather was terrible as I seem to remember losing a shoe in mud on the way back to where we were staying.
My goodness, what an exciting day!

That's what I thought.

Tony Shepherd
Ronnie Coyle
Own Archdeacon

And would the two huns in the background be Durrant and Fleck Snr?

It does look a bit like him but he had already left us by '84
