This is a hard one. Pic was on twitter but no one knows opposition.

My guess in AC Milan 69 as Fallon and Craig are playing and the advert on the far side looks Italian.

Anyone else want to put their tuppence worth in ? :ponder:

Is that the 6-0 game played a few weeks after the 4-1 cup final defeat to Partick Thistle?

Agree it looks like a European game. As far as I can see Fallon & Craig also played against Red Star, Benfica & Kokkola but Milan seems as good a guess as any.

1974-75

Posted Image
This picture has been bugging me.

I estimate it to be far later than 1974-75. I couldn't put my finger on why, but I think I'm not pretty confident. I'd say it would be around 1985-86.

The reason I finally spotted was that until around 1984-85, the wall at the left of the main stand at the Celtic end had a more ornate and shaped top, whereas this is straight across, meaning that it had been replaced. There are pictures on the wiki of the same wall in it's previous form - not like this - dated to 1984.

Also, it cannot be any later than 1986, as the old half roof came off the Celtic end and was replaced by the bigger one which stretched over the entire Celtic end.

There is no way that this pic is from the 1970s.

Does anyone have an alternative rationale?...
I'd say it was 1985 when the turnstiles and perimeter wall were rebuilt, the new roof on the Celtic end
going up in summer 1986. The turnstiles there impede on the old railway formation, the earth embankment
had been removed by that time.

The pic below is earlier, probably mid-1970s.

Found this one which is dated as 1984. Clearly the turnstile wall is smaller than the original image.

Anyone any idea what the fixture was with the big crowds outside main stand?
