I recognise that guy - he's from Cumbernauld. Pretty sure he was in another crowd scene further back in this thread.

Missed peno by RA, May, '85.
Yeah, but he'd scored the first one, leading to a first class 'honest mistake' by the MiB stating for some unfathomable reason that it had to be retaken

Subsequently the second was missed and you see RA remonstrating with the ref, who I think may have been the notorious David Syme.

That was the most surreal Old Firm I've ever been to. The attendance was really low at around 40,000 as we'd pretty much blown the league by then, but this result confirmed it.

A subdued crowd, atmosphere and indeed everything about the evening was subdued. Bizarrely I seem to recall it being played on a Monday evening?

Then of course there was the Strathclyde Polis doing the charge of the light brigade down Janefield Street.

Truly terrifying.

We had some players in the '50's,Fernie,Collins,Evans,Peacock,Tully yet we were pretty muchunsuccessful thanks to Robert Kelly picking the team.If Matt Busby had become manager in the early '50's when he wanted the job,I wonder how different our history would have been?

Spot on, on every count WB

It was an annoying game, two Huns were sent off and we let slip a lead against 9 men although we were down to 10 then also. Another example from them when we should have given them a good doing and let them off the hook.

Happily for me, I missed the grief in Janefield Street afterwards and couldn't believe what I read the next day. That could have been our Hillsbrough. Thank the Good Lord there wasn't a fatality. I'm also sure the rats who were involved in it got promotion in the polis.

The guy to the left of the keeper looks a little like Bertie Peacock. So maybe 50's, with the lighter green away socks of that era. Probably not Celtic.
