Sorry to read about your loss.

I lost my own Dad last year and thought about him at the weekend when the boy came on and scored with his first touch, he loved to see the youths coming through. He used to laugh watching wee Jimmy rip the Micky.

My dad passed away over the weekend, he was just short of 83.

Unlike probably most of you, I was a Celt before him, the trainer of our football team who happened to be our parish priest was Celtic daft and had all the kids turned onto Celtic so it took me a while to get him on board as he just liked watching any football game.

He only came over three times with me to CP, he wouldn't fly but it was just as well as he never really understood the tensions that exist between Celtic and some of the other clubs. He would talk to anybody which led to some nervous encounters where I thought he would get me lynched, I was the one wearing the colours.

Being thrown out of my own house when Celtic were on the box the routine I had was to arrive at my dads with a fish & chip and a six pack of guinness for him and we watched the match together.

It will seem very strange next season, I won't know what to do with myself.

Sorry for hijacking the thread, I felt the need to put a few words down and this seemed like the right place to do it.
Condolences CE. I lost my Dad at 79 in December and it still feels bad.

May they both rest in peace

Cracker of a pic btw

Condolences my friend.
I have no religion and hence no prayers, but I appreciate the pain you are going through and you have my sympathies.
