Great image,

Forgive my ignorance but who is the player holding the child, I can't put a name to the face?
Looks like it might have been some charity gig so maybe not
a pro ,as for bfdj when he played as a youngster in Dundee
the team he played for seemingly wore the hoops .
St Francis (juvenile league).

It's post-1931 as middle picture is from 1931 cup win. Could've been a jubilee-project/article from 1938 with Maley looking back on all of his 14 (?) cup triumphs.

Bertie & Alec Thomson, Wilson plus Kennaway and Quaskly as trainer mark it pretty clearly. Right picture is harder to identify, but the three trophies could indicate a commemorative 1908 collage - Quinn, Young, Somers etc.

Where's 2 of the greatest ever Celts that played in that 1931 final?
Ouch...

Thought Wilson left in '33 after Geatons & Paterson established themselves while Kennaway got his medal in '33. A bit ashamed to have forgotten about our 1933 cup triumph albeit resulting from a much less spectacular match than '31.

One of the rare occasions a McGrory goal was recorded

Aye, your normally on the ball when it comes to our early history.

Not seen that film of Mcgrory's goal before  I'll need to check out that AP (Associated Press) again, maybe they have come up with a lot of new material that i've no seen before.

Seen these images in a book on Scottish Football. (they're normally the best books for Celtic images believe it or not)

There's a 3 pager on Neil Mochan and the training and i liked this quote from him.

''Old players are supposed to sit back and polish their medals. I have no time for that, I'm too busy preparing Celtic to win more medals!''

Absolutely love this fella nothings to much for him as many can vouch for :worthy: Posed with me and my late da at my wedding and signed the guestbook, visited him at the house when he was ill and attended his funeral.

Plus hes a good laugh.

Google 'Tiny Wharton / John Greig' if you want a more dignified one.
