it is a fantastic thread Elvis, moreso by what you contribute to it :rocker: It's the main reason I found the site, I'm no longer a paying customer (not since the early 80's!!!!) but I love the pics from when I went along. Great work

My dad has been in hospital for the last month, he's 83 and has been very disorientated, struggling with his memory. I have been showing him the images on this thread on a tablet and it has helped him focus a lot.

I showed him pictures of when the Lisbon Lions came to the Markets Field in Limerick (my first Celtic match) back in 1970 & again in '71, he was able to name practically both teams, talk about the huge crowd and it really perked him up.

I showed him an image of Jim Craig from the thread and he remembered when Jim came to Limerick with the League Cup in 2000, my mam had recently passed away and I couldn't get him out of the house for weeks. Managed to get him down to the club and he met Jim and the two of them talked about football for what seemed like ages, a European Cup winner giving that kind of time to ordinary supporters, it would be unheard of today.

I'm 52, my dad is 83 and I guess we have always found it easiest to talk about football, I would watch most Celtic games on Tv with him (no choice really as my wife hunts me from the house when Celtic play as I tend to scare the crap out of the dog).

Sorry for going off on a solo run but when St A posted a few days ago about there being few comments on this thread, I wanted to post that for me, it is something I look forward to everyday.
That's very humbling. Best wishes to your Dad

Does anyone know where this pic may have been taken ? Someone said it looks like Woolworths ?
Possibly the Gratispool shop in the High Street Paisley?

The guy taking the photos is Hugh Birt (Celtic official photographer) who worked for and managed the Paisley shop.
