That's no Dixie, is it :ponder:
yip. number 12, came on for Dalglish...... who was quite good at penalties
Was at the game, sat behind John Fallon, who proceeded to advice our goalie (Evan Williams?) which way to go before each of Inter's kicks.
Fallon was right every time
Sod's Law, I guess, and a rough night for a kid brought up on the Lions

That was the problem with teams which came after the lions ,they were compared with perfection. If the early '70s had been any other time they would have been given far more respect.

If only...
He'd been banging them in during practice sessions at training too :(

One of those sliding doors moments that make you wonder what might have been.

Would contesting another European Cup Final be a feat that would have convinced Macari, Hay, Connelly and ultimately Dalglish that it would have been more worth their while to stay?

Mibbes aye.......?
I feel if we had had a board of directors with ambition we could have been the Liverpool of the seventies and eighties.Selling macari was good bit of business if we have reinvested in using the money to buy the likes of pat Stanton, because we were strong up front but to me the selling of hay was the beginning of the end of us having a chance of winning the European cup.

I agree re Davie Hay being sold but tbf to Jock he tried repeatedly each year for 6/7 years to get Stanton before he eventually got him and that only happened as Stanton and Turnbull had a major bust up which Jock got tipped off about.

I never knew we tried to get him earlier. In the early seventies Scotland were still producing plenty of decent talent.

and P.Hegarty and M.Malpas looks on.
St.A can be when we was 2 up and then we "suffered" 2 goals on 2nd half?
