I met Ian Andrews just before the 5-1 game, he seemed like a perfectly decent man, but obviously he wasn't up to coping with what he was faced with.
My opinion?
He holds his share of the blame.
But he had two centre halves in front of him, Aitken and McCarthy who should have protected him more, if Drinkell is up challenging the keeper, where is the centre half?
Also if Pat Bonner is missing the 1988 cup final with a back injury that has seen him miss a lot of the season, he played only 1 of 4 games against the hun, why is he going to Euro 88 and then missing four months with a back injury?
Thanks to him for Ian Andrews then?

We were bloody awful that day. Lucky it wasn't more than 5. Aitken & McCarthy had their worst games for the club the day. Andrews was poor but the back four were terrible that day.

Andrews played that game with a broken finger. Didn't tell the medical staff about it until the following week.
