New to me, was this in aid of a charity and if not what benefit would it have been to both sides, did supporters of both teams sit together on the terraces?
My Da went to that game with a dozen workmates straight after work, half Tims, half huns and they stood on the terraces together with a carry out.

The Russians came out to warm up, took one look at the fog and refused to play.

Game was never played, fans went mental and had to be given refunds on way out.

Thank you for the info  , amazing, you would think the Russians would have been fined for not playing plus it is hard to imagine the Celtic support and the deadconites supporting the same team.

Apparently it was fairly common then. They did the same for Ibrox disaster fund in 1971.

Last two images I believe comprise front & back of Charlie Tully's book.

I interviewed Danny last year and we discussed this book.

He said that he never liked the photo from the waist up on the front cover.

I said that Derek Johnstone had a similar book and cover out at that time.

Danny said it must have been some size of book to have Johhntsone's waist on the front cover

Very understandable for the Ibrox Disaster, but an innocuous friendly seems odd to me, especially as the sectarian baggage would have been greater back then?
