Outside Best, is there Brookside and Corrie stars in this snap........ when was it and what was the occasion
The guy to the left o Best is a auld pal o mine

he was a good player just wondering how he got intae that pic :nono:
The guy with his back turned makes me  everytime I see this classic, he's either baltic or doing the fake school disco snog!!!!
Best looks like his head is morphing in to trees in the background.

Come to think of it, the guy you meantion looks like he has no head at all.

Better shot ;) Who is the passenger  And is he concerned the Bhoys are going to drop the big cup!!

The guy leaning out of the lorry is John McAlinden (spelling?). He once played for Celtic but at the time this photograph was taken, his job was as a kind of general handyman for the stadium. He also ran the pie stalls at that time. No pizzas or hot dogs in those days - it was pies and Bovril and that was it!

Sorry  But who is the stricken Celt most likely to be ?
Is that not the 1961 Cup Final? Could it be Dunky Mackay... or Willie O'Neill?

... or is it the 1959 SC semi at Ibrox? In which case it might be Dunky Mackay or ? :ponder:

That's definitely Tiny Wharton in the background pointing to the centre spot for a goal.
That's Dunfermline's first goal in their 2-0 victory over us in the replay of the 1961 Scottish Cup Final - managed by Jock Stein. The Celtic player lying on the ground is almost certainly Willie O'Neill.

As a follow up to my last posting, the referee is in fact Hugh Phillips and not Tiny Wharton.

Looked like Wharton's fat arse and general posture, but I bow to your knowledge.

Right!!

I think I have worked this out as Pittodrie.

Im almost certain that is Faither in goals, now I know some away trips I've been on have been daft but I've never seen a pitch invader complete with chasing copper and a stray dug at the same time, and Im assuming the 'culprit' came out the Beach End, any info

League Cup tie played at Aberdeen on 2nd September 1967.

Celtic were awarded a penalty in a 5-1 victory.

Man was arrested for trying to attack the referee, a Mr J.R.P. Gordon of Newport-on-Tay.

The dog may have been an early casual.
