Pretty sure Jinky would not be aiming that at Willie Ormond in the foreground. That would presumably be after the 1974 game v the Auld Enemy which Scotland won 2-0.

The gesture is at the press gantry in the wake of the Largs rowing boat incident.
It is - just read the rather poor biog on Jinky by Jim Black and it mentions this exact incident.
the whole story was on STV last week from 1974 ;)

Okay, here's the pic with the full team named. The three most difficult to name are usually Frank Welsh, Jim Davidson and Kevin McCool (Glasgow Road hit the post with that one). I'm pretty sure I scanned this from one of the Celtic View summer specials, probably summer 1974 given that this was taken in august 73.

Can't believe i didn't recognise Frank Welsh. He must have been released at the end of that season,as Frank came down to Coventry City on trial saeson 1974 if memory serves.

Cracking guy but didn't get signed, had some good nights out though. Excellent thread

A few well known faces in this 1973 reserve side.

I know some of you like to test the old memory so I'll post the team in a bit.

Most find the guy at front right a bit of a problem.

Played at Lesser Hampden.
Would that be Vic Davidson front row second from right?

Fantastic, thanks for that. I'm a relative of Tommy McInally, I'm sure the family will be keen to see the picture.
