Added info for younger viewers.
John Kelman was our Chief Scout at the time. He came from Cleland. I knew some of his family, but didn't know him personally.

Stand corrected again

Got to say GR this must be one of the better threads with almost everyone on KDS getiing involved

As i mentioned in a much earlier post its so good some company made a video of it, like many others on here including myself they also got something wrong, they named the film Celtic Park - Old Pictures but as a few of us well know theres a pic on it thats not within 50 miles of Celtic Park, see if any of the new-comers can spot it.

What's the controversial occasion?

Season 78-79, huns played their home derbies at Hampden and this game was postponed needlessly because they were in European Cup q.f. v Cologne. Reason given was support safety. Everything evened out though, Cologne knocked them out and 10 Men won the league in May !
 Pitch had passed the inspection but Queens Park said the stadium wasn't safe. Huns would eventually win the postponed game 1-0
Didn't der hun organise a Glasgow Cup game vs Thistle at the Kinning Park Sewage
Farm *before* the announcement was made that this league game was cancelled?
Or is that an urban myth?

Thought so myself, not sure if Herd came on that day, if not probably John Connolly, im sure theres a video of that game on this thread

GLASGOW CELTIC FC
Coach: Jock STEIN.
Scorers: Lennox, Murdoch, McBride, Foulkes (o.g.).
Team: Simpson, Gemmel, O'Neill, Murdoch, McNeill, Clark, Johnstone,McBride, Chalmers, Lennox, Auld.

MANCHESTER UNITED (ENGLAND)
Coach: Matt BUSBY
Scorers: David SADLER.
Team: Gregg, Dunne, Brennan, Crerand, Foulkes, Stiles, Best, Sadler, Charlton, Law, Connelly
That is from the first half: we were attacking the Rangers end in the second half.
going from that line up i'd say sadler then
