In the front row, bottom left of that pic, is that James McGrory. If so, I thought he fell out with the club after his removal.

Or is it a director?
Yes it is Jimmy McGrory. When he was replaced by Jock I think he took up a job in the clubs PR dept.
Stayed as club's public relation manager, stayed in that post until his death in October 1982.

According to Gerald McNee, who co-wrote his biography "A Lifetime in Paradise" since 1975, he was suffering from dementia-esque condition, presumable from the amount of times he headed the heavy leather balls of the 20's & 30's. So at least here the club displayed loyalty to one of it's greatest servants.

Opening day of season 1989-90. The mother of all false dawns, a good 3-1 win with a Tommy Coyne hattrick.
Should have seen the signs, the follwing day the highlights were shown on STV, analysing was new Bhoy Paul Elliott and he didn't even know the names of any of team mates!
Things fell apart in good style in September with our Eurpoean exit and skittered downhill from there.

East End Park again.

Murdo's free kick and Charlie Nicholas in his last season; 82-83; think we went there in league cup game.
