Its no Parkhead and more likely to be from a much darker side nearer to Govan
At first I thought it may be Garngard/Royston/Blackhill area with the gas tank :ponder:

Found this in the Mitchell today GR

Train would have been full of Tims & QP supporters as they played that final.

Any memories of this guy ? I recall him with Hearts.
I went to school with one of his sons St.Anthony. I've interviewed Stevie for the book. It's a very interesting tale of how he eventually left Parkhead after a disagreement with the big man. Stevie's big brothers played for Aston Villa and Hibs so he came from a footballing family. He ended up at Sheffield Wednesday with Jim Craig before playing with Hearts, Forfar, Stenhousemuir et al.

There was a bit of controversy as Coventry were the first ever British club to be fined for tapping a player when they tried to steal Stevie from Celtic. He was also born in Sheffield but played for Scotland Schoolboys, which made headlines at the time. He went to the same school as Peter Marinello and Paul Hegarty.

A total gentleman of a guy, he now drives taxis and is based in Lasswade. He gave me his entire collection of football scraps and cutouts for research. Included in the pile are his original Celtic and Hearts contracts and his cancellation form, signed by Mr. Sean Fallon. I've posted a couple of the pics earlier on in this thread.

Beating the huns 3 times at Ibrox in 6 weeks

In the 1892 Scottish Cup Final, played at Ibrox between Celtic and Queen's Park, the ground's new, increased capacity of 36,000 was broken when 5,000 fans stormed the gates which were then closed, leaving 2,000 people outside. During the match, with thousands causing chaos by encroaching on to the pitch, an attempted robbery of the match takings was foiled by Rangers' trainer, John Taylor, who beat off the crooks!

Dunfermline before us where he won a Scottish Cup with his brother Willie also playing and after us it was Clydebank.
Thanks for that - it must have been for Clydebank then

(although, you will probably come back and say he never played against us when he was with Clydebank  )

My gut feeling is that they are Huns.

:ph43r:

Check the scarf on the guy in the front. I've never seen a Celtic scarf like that before. I think that's a Hun scarf.
Our old school ones were bar scarves or the green silky ones with the stripes going down and the big badge with the cup.

Check the wee tax man character on the front left. Unless he's had the misfortune of sharing his train home with with hundreds of Huns he deffo don't like a Tim going to Ibrox.

Almost certainly huns in that pic CH, Celtic fans would rarely have used it

i would say that pic was fae the mid 60s just before the station closed, i dont remember seeing the station nor do i remember going near it, i always went/came back via the ferry or the 65 bus/caur which dropped you aff at Govan road, the ferry was the safer option as the 65 stopped right ootside the mermaid pub in Bridgeton, if the huns got beat which was quite a lot in the later part of the 60s/early 70s, the tap windaes always got tanned (guaranteed) :arrr:

I went on the 'bees hive' (the 65) bus from Govan many times.

Your right about Brigton but many a time the windaes were panned in from the inside ! :rocker:

Lubo - He played for the Bankies mostly in their promotion season of 1976/77 although the Glasgow Herald report from April 17 1978 states that Callaghan came on as a sub for Clydebank in their 5-2 defeat at Parkhead.

I thought he must have played during their promotion year.

I also thought I'd seen him play for them against us and I would have been at that 5-2 match (even although I can't remember it specifically). I just can't find confirmation of that in any of the records I've got. However, if you have evidence that he did, moey thinks he seen him and I also have a vague recollection then it maybe shows how flawed stats can be.

Think the above pic is from '75: 77 top had red text on it and also T Callaghan not involved in 77 squad

Isn't that Andy Lynch in the background? I'm still inclined to think that's the 1975 Glasgow Cup final, which was played in a downpour and finished 2-2... Paul Wilson scoring both our goals.
