It's the League Cup Section game on August 10th 1968 at Ibrox (which was my first hun game at Ibrox, funnily enough). Unusually, Jinky was wearing number 8 shorts, and George Connelly was no 7.

Celtic won 2-0, Willie Wallace scored 2.

Could look at these for ages and keep finding things that make me smile.
The hand that belongs to some guy who has obviously done a diving header on his way to the game made me laugh (back left, in front of Jesse Owens man)
The thing I find striking about the picture is the lassie in the centre about 2/3s of the way back.I hadnt noticed her until G.R. pointed her out.Now she totally dominates it for me.To me she looks out of place, reminds me of the mad time traveler pics you see....the ones of somebody on a mobile while standing next to Queen Victoria.Once you see her, youll always be drawn to her.

I had blanked the score boards from my memory. I was genuinely surprised to see to see them in a picture posted on here a few months ago.....
I also hate it when someone posts a picture of the jungle with seats. :nono:

I've stuck my thoughts in caps boss just so its easier to make out.

There was a pie stall in the very middle of the Jungle under exit 8 or 9
My brother knew some of the family that helped run it and was occasionally allowed in to games he couldn't get a ticket for by one of them briefly - very very briefly opening a door that exited on to Janefield St
Cue two hundred others without ticket making a bee line for the door
This was in the days before the police stopped people getting near the turnstiles without tickets and Janefield St being a popular route for fans going both ways along it to either end!
The refreshment boutiques were in the very top left and top right of the Jungle, above exits number 6 and number 9.
They widnae have survived in the middle of the Jungle, even the macaroon ghuy feared to dare near there.

Although I mostly went to the jungle in the seventies and eighties I didn't venture down to the toilets much but I remember once going down and a man was selling ham or cheese rolls from a cardboard box which must have been sodden through with piss since it was lying on the ground. He wouldn't have needed to salt the rolls.
I would still be able to recognise that ghuy, in my time he stood just outside the Jungle at the Celtic End on yer way in to the Jungle with his cardboard box full of rolls and cheese or ham.

Also spotted the macaroon seller years later in the toon centre, wee chubby ghuy with bright red cheeks. Probably was about 30s in the 80s, had a voice that didnae match his boady if ye know what a mean, kinda came from naewhere "Er yer macaroon bars n wrigley spearmint chewin guuuum"

What a difference 5 years make.To think one of the first games jock took over we lost 6-2 to Falkirk with about 7 of that team becoming European champions 2 years later. The transformation in such a short space of time was remarkable and if it wasn't for jock we wouldn't be the club we are now and wouldn't have the stadium we have today.

I thinks it in the city centre after the charity game with Real Madrid that we lost 3-1
Things were so bad that the performance was thought to be good enough that the fans turned up outside the post match banquet
