Chris Morris.

What a season that was :potm: :ynwa:

One of the players that will always will remind me of the '88 Centenary year.

Wonder what he is doing now?

Is that the Morton game from 88 Elvis?

If so that is the day I really started to believe we would win the league in the centenary season. A real struggle that day and we didn't score until the last ten minutes. I think it was a penalty, iirc by Aitken or Derek Whyte.
Sorry TDS I don't know myself, got that image off a 1989 programme V St Mirren that I happened to be at.
Hard to tell as there is no opposition player in the frame but you know, I knew, we just knew we were winning that Title from the 'minted' huns (or so we thought).

Great pic yet again Celtic Elvis as they all are. Same to the other distinguished posters

Edit: Just saw oppo in the background. God knows who it was though even though I attended every home game that season. Bet it's been answered by now :)

Defo Accies
It's Morton, they were sponsored by AG Alloys, whereas the Accies at the time were sponsored by Daks. They also had a very similar sky blue away top to Morton.

I think he's back in Cornwall running the family pasties business- which is very successful!

The last time huns were in the Jungle was in 1975, a I-I draw in November I think

Tis a thing of beauty :worthy:
Colin Jackson might have the least athletic physique I have ever seen in a player. And it's not like he made up for it by being any good.

And yet he was paid to play the game...

How many assists would he have had that season. My abiding memory is of him bombing to the bye line clipping in crosses.

My memory of that Morton game was that Bonner hoofed the ball out, it bounced a couple of times and went right into the box where McAvennie was brought down by the keeper as the ball dropped just inside the box nearest the Jungle side.

Big Roy, shooting into the hun End did his usual spot kick, god forbid any keeper that got in the way of it.

Probably a lotta shampooe and happened nothing like that but that's my memory of the goal.

:)

I might be totally wrong with this but.....Is he the bloke who brought 'TheCeltic Song' over from Belfast Celtic, or scored a goal from a corner at Falkirk in 1953, only for it to be turned down and do the exact same thing again? Who stuck the ball under his shirt in the 1957 Scottish League Cup Final? Or be named in the folk song, 'Football Crazy' by Robin Hall and Jimmy MacGregor?

To be honest I am totally lost.

Won't dispute your memory of the build up, but we were shooting towards the Celtic End in the second half of that game. I do remember it was McAvennie brought down and Aitken who scored, he put it high to his right, keeper had no chance.
