Any ideas as to the bloke on the left. Or is it really obvious and I'm just being daft?
Eamon DeValera, then President of Ireland and soon to be the bad guy in Michael Collins the movie, never took him to be a footie fan but I remember my Celtic daft parish priest telling us that our victory in '67 was one of Ireland's greatest days in sport  :arrr:

Much better than Guidetti as Mr.McSwain rightly told me several weeks ago - I now believe he is correct.

Lovely guy was Willie - Achieved his Bhoyhood dream and played for the Celtic.

Asked him once about his time at Carlisle - He was a bit indifferent about it and then put his hand to his heart and said "Once you have played for the Celtic nothing compares - My heart was always up the road."

Any images knocking about of that traumatic night at Oriel Park in Novenber 1979. We ground out a 0-0 against Dundalk to go through. We stood on a big pile of gravel beside the main stand and slowly sank lower and lower as the game progressed.

Is that the Morton game from 88 Elvis?

If so that is the day I really started to believe we would win the league in the centenary season. A real struggle that day and we didn't score until the last ten minutes. I think it was a penalty, iirc by Aitken or Derek Whyte.
That Morton game was the one where they were selling the tickets for the March 88 game at Ibrox, the one McStay scored THAT goal.
We were awful!
We got a penalty in the last minute which Aitken took, captain's responsibility and all that.
I really loved Roy's penalty kick taking technique not... He would stand with his back to goal, turn around and hit it blind without thinking where he would place it...

I was there that night and went home with grey shoes. Were you in folk band who provided the entertainment pre match. Dundalk wasn't called dodge city for no reason.
