Quoting limited to 3 levels deepPosted Image
he was, in those less PC days of the 70's. The elephant boy was a TV series........ and nobody thought there was anything wrong with that!!!!

the wiki has it as this match.. I thought we always wore green socks against them around that time.... obviously not!!
When we got a colour telly in early 70's Elephant Boy was the first programme we watched in colour

Kalaaaah !!!
This is a great thread for reminding you of things from your childhood. I had completely forgotten the background to Paul Wilson's nickname. I agree in the less enlightened days of 1970s random racism , or more accurately, ignorance, was commonplace in working class Glasgow.

Good to see people comment that he was a good player. From limited memory he wasn't too well liked by a lot of supporters, but always seemed to do well against the hun.

Does anyone know the story of this?

Is that some kind of gift from FC Basle like local produce or something?
