Ian Rush Testimonial.
I wouldn't have said this was his testimonial - the image looks far too bright for a midweek game in December - and I think Rush looks younger in that pic.

Rush testimonial

A horrible evening - was a decent day in Liverpool but we were absolutely terrible that night and our fans indulged in a high level of Tartan Army only there for the party atmosphere. Coming a few weeks after the Raith debacle it was a rough spell.
Spot on. Will never forget Dalglish coming on and outpacing Mark McNally.

Dalglish was 43 at the time :ffs:
Strolled away from Peter the Pointer too.

Horrible night... horrible atmosphere in our own support, and a horrific performance. And I had to drive straight up the road after the game... and that was a night to get pished.

You and I both.

We were a baw hair away from a riot that night.

Never seen so many drunk Tims and they were selling beer under the stand for the entire game :ffs:

I was sober as well - still a couple of years shy of legal drinking age and didn't bother sneaking a few jars in because we spent all day doing Beatles stuff.

I love The Fields of Athenry but a non-stop 20 or so minute version of it in the second half had me close to breaking point.

Still think my lowest point was in Physics the next afternoon with my teacher asking me why I was off, I said I was at the football, he asked what the score was - he knew fine well where I was and what the score was - the rest of the class played out with a stand-off between him and myself. Then went to see Oasis that night and Liam walked off stage after about 4 or 5 songs - what a run.

Did the same double-header. Noel saved me that week.

I left the Rush game at half time. I'd seen enough. Team CGAF and support in here for the party mode. A terrible night.

Christian Dailly played in Ronny Morans testimonial in the mid/ late 90's, the Celtic fans jumped up and down so much it moved the stand

Is this 1964 at Fir Park? If so, it was my first Celtic match.
Jinky ran riot through those puddles. :)

Think the Murderwell player is Jaws and Bobby would look much younger then so doubt it is the 1964 game kj.

You are correct. I checked the Wiki, and Bobby didn't play in the 64 match.
Also Motherwell would have had a Claret hoop across their strip in 64.

Anyone know if this full game would be available anywhere or even decent highlights? You tube just has a few minutes.
I remember the game well and exactly where me, my bros and my da were standing right at the very front of the north enclosure, opposite the main stand and in line with the 18 yard line nearest the hun end.

never managed to find anything other than this short clip on youtube. Maybe highlights via an Aberdeen website but as the game wasn't on live and in the pre-video era I would doubt the existance of any extended highlights .... but good luck.. it doesntt get any easier to watch BTW!!!!!

My first Cup Final, was in the hun end and iirc fans split down the middle, was a lot of misbehaving going on in there. And yes, we should have pumped them
