This is from one of my favourite games, my first Celtic v Rangers game in January 1977.

Won 1-0 courtesy of a Colin Jackson own goal

Freezing cauld that night and I can still here my Ma saying to my Da that he wasn't to come home if anything happened to 'the wean'.

Look at the snow pile up at the Jungle.
Long story but I watched the last 5 minutes of that game from the back of the hun end :twitch:

The epitome of being a Celtic Great with another Celtic Great.

Please God we are long overdue a homegrown Great.
I would not disagree with anything you have said to an extent, but can't forget the fact that Davie Hay was not a popular Celtic manager, in fact he was seen as largely a failure.
He reached 4 cup finals and won 1.
His only league win saw us top the league with only minutes to go (yes it was fabulous).
His last season saw us give up a 9 point lead in January to lose the league, which translated to a 13 point lead in todays money.
4 seasons and 2 trophies. is not legend stuff. No one was sorry to see him go in 1987.
As a player he was a legend. As a manager not.
Not trying to wind anyone up, but sometimes the tinted glasses approach gets a bit too much.

I think that might be straw/hay piled up there, I certainly remember 1 game against Le bosch, back around then, and straw was used to keep he pitch from freezing

Agreed CB.
JOW, your mate Dom Sullivan says it was purely accidental. He said he played in the game and Brian went into the challenge half-hearted.
Mallorcabhoy,Brian was a friend,I dont know Dom Sullivan, and no it wasnt an accident.

you're right. It's listed in the book as 18,300 for replay - it was usually about 15k when we went Broomfield in league - and that was almost as many came to replay at CP (20,000)
