Scottish Cup tie 2-2 at Pittodrie, all the players wearing trainers because the pitch was frozen, Adidas Samba frenzy.
I could have been looking at that image for a year and wouldn't have spotted the traine :brickwall: rs
It was live on STV, they had to announce that they had nothing to do with the game going on because the ground was so frozen.
We were 2-0 up at half time and drew 2-2. The replay was 0-0 at a ridiculously overcrowded Celtic Park, the Maestro missed a solid chance in the first half of extra time.
The second replay was at Dens Park, we won 1-0, McClair scored a superb goal.
The draw then sent us to Tynecastle against Hearts who had gone to last game of the previous season for the league and made the cup final.
That's right 3rd round Pittodrie, 4th round Tynecastle.
Nothing odd there eh? :nono:
Meanwhile der hun got Hamilton at home.
Shame they lost 1-0. :rocker:

CP?
Aye and its looking over to the first Celtic park .. that actual photo was discussed in a thread on the Celtic Graves.

Thought that shed you see was out on Janefield st and a artist painted the CP1 from its roof.

Also its the only close up image of the wooden terrace we had which was similar to the one that caused the first ibrox disaster.

I believe that to be Clyde as well.
It's Shawfield Elvis, and Clyde def in red.
But is that not Morton - the hoops look blue and Stevie Chalmers went to play for them.

The telltal sign is the empty terraces. Any time Celtic went to Shawfield is was mobbed

I was at the game, one of the best nights of my Celtic life - if I remember rightly, it was a short corner worked between Bertie Auld and Davie Hay. I think Davie crossed for Yogi's header?

Is that from a Scottish Cup tie at Firhill in Jan or Feb 1969? That game finished 3-3 with Thistle getting two late goals, and we won the replay 8-1.

Good to see a image of John Herbert McLaughlin in his role as SFA President, One of the most important figures in our own history as well as Scottish Football.

In a story last week the Daily Record had him down as a Celtic player who lost his life in the Great war, even although he died in 1909.

Anybody know the story behind this poor lad?
wee fella is from Ayr , Connor I think his name is . Think he has spina bifida and that was an operation to lengthen his legs and straighten his feet. He goes to Queen Margaret Academy and is a mad keen celtic supporter. He was on the front page of the Daily Record running a leg with the Olympic torch a couple of years ago.

It looks like there is a number on Chalmers shorts, so I would think it's the Hoops.

Looking back on the Wiki, Morton did have numbers on their shorts in season 71-72,(photo against us) the same season Stevie played for them.. and the hoops in that photo are blue!

My dad's hero - if he was half as talented as my old man made him out to be he must have been some player.
