The bold Francis hailed from Govan.

Stayed in Copland Road. Aye, that one.... :ffs:
Not the only Celtic goalkeeper to come fae Govan - Johnny Falconer (St Anthony's, Cowdenbeath, Celtic) was from Paisley Road West and was a lifelong supporter of Rangers (1872), remember them?

I think Steve Callaghan must have had something to do with Celtic signing Falconer. He had managed him at St Anthony's and there was a lot of sympathy for the keeper after a horror injury playing for Cowdenbeath at Tynecastle - he was kicked by a Jambo and his kneecap was completely shattered.
