Jimmy McGrory with Victor Maslov, the manager who lined up the first back four in world football and is credited with inventing pressing in the early 50's.

 I was at that game as well but you obviously suited the 90's hairstyles better than me so I was kept out of the photo.

Without getting all gloomy, it was so sad to see a young fit lad like Phil cut down like that - makes you appreciate just being here

Was mates with Phil at school ,cracking guy,sat beside him in our o level classes and remember him talking about getting the chance sign forms with Motherwell. Clever guy, proper decent and pure down to earth.
Was totally made up for him when he got his chance with Motherwell then the Hoops. I was gutted when he died, was driving home from work ,turned on the radio for the scores and heard the news had to pull over.
A good guy taken far ,far too soon

Quoting limited to 3 levels deepPosted Image
I was at a meeting not long after that and a Celtic director admitted there were 72,000 in the ground that day.
Yep they seriously over crowded the ground without a care in world.
Lucky for every one on the terraces that day that the fences at Celtic Park were easy to climb over.
The ones 11 months later at Hillsborough weren't.
I was in the Jungle directly under the TV gantry for the first half, moved to the left for the second because we were getting very badly crushed.
Simply put if you were on the terraces that day you dodged a bullet.

Another was the Scottish Cup replay v Aberdeen midweek. Early 90's?

Remember the crush outside the gound against the graveyard wall behind the Jungle.

Grown men were shouting that night never mind a lad like myself...only the second time I was getting scared about crushing at the footy.

First was away to Dundee, midweek late 80's or early 90's too.

Agreed.

Looking back it was a miracle there were no fatalities.

But for the grace of God that bunch of doddering old fools would have has blood on their hands and sent to jail.

I'm not being hysterical about it either. Anyone who was there will agree.
Agreed.

The Aberdeen game I mentioned earlier it was a miracle there was no-one seriously injured or killed with the force of the crowd. I myself was carried yards without my feet even touching the deck.

After Hillsborough I feel so lucky that night.

Anyway keep the images comeing Celtic Elvis and noteable others...WELL appreciated

Pictures like this one makes me think miller could have done a good job with the acting.
Looked to be totally committed to me. Don't think it was Millers idea to leave, more Celtic's.

Can't blame him for going back to the new stylee dark side imo £££
