Billy with his City side.
bit of segregation there - Scots in the corner on right (Neil McNab, Tolmie, Parlane) but Asa Hartford get to go up steps next to Billy
Wasn't bobby McDonald , 2nd left next to tommy Caton, Scottish ?

There was also the minor detail of leaving out Souness of the first two games, instead playing Rioch and Mason.
Maybe not the best move to leave the bloke with the shiny new European Cup winners medal cooling his heels on the bench.

And as you say the Andy Gray thing was extraordinary. Was he not both England's POTY and YPOTY that season?
Sady for Ally Rioch and Masson had peaked a year previously. Souness and Gemmill were the main men by 1978.
Even the guy who captained Forest to the title that term - and to two subsequent European Cups - never even made the Scottish squad. Or any international squad for that matter.

Unthinkable now.

It was from a book published in 1981 so looks like it could be the 1980 Scottish Cup Final.

Desperate doesn't even come close.
But if you had a pic of him scoring at Ibrox that would be fun.
I nearly expired laughing in the Broomloan that day.

there ya go.....................
Ah cheers. Still makes me smile, especially Spackman's hands to the head moment when he realises the shampoo storm he's released.
I'm just out of shot in the lower Broomloan.

0-0 draw that day, an awful game of football. My only outstanding memory was of a Union flag being set alight at the back of the Celtic end.... ahh memories..

My favourite shirt, I will admit it looks better on her than me.
A young Lee Westwood on the right.

'88 V's Dundee? I couldn't get in to my favoured Jungle stance and had to enter the old rangers end that day as folk were poring on to the trackside due to the sheer numbers. Think the official att was 60,000...more like 70!

I was at a meeting not long after that and a Celtic director admitted there were 72,000 in the ground that day.
