Any idea which game this was Fudgie
Is it the Scottish Cup final 1990?
what about the guy in the sombrero.

Trying to start a trend ?
I think it might take about 20 years to catch on!

I'm almost 100% sure that the roof was on the Jungle long before that.

I reckon it's the game against Dunfermline from May 4th 1966. We won 2-1 but Alex Ferguson got their goal and that could be him slotting the ball into our net.

A few well known faces in this 1973 reserve side.

I know some of you like to test the old memory so I'll post the team in a bit.

Most find the guy at front right a bit of a problem.

Theres another picture at the other end from the same game with Hunfermline
celebrating another goal so I reckon its the cup game in 1968. The work on the
Jungles roof was started the previous summer so perhaps there were issues with it
and remedial work was required.

Certainly, Scran dates both pics as January 1968.

The 1968/69 season was the first season that the Jungle was fully modernised.

The cup game was in January 1968 - not normally the most clement month in Scotland... although that was the year of the hurricane; however, what is throwing me is the fact that it is still daylight in that pic... unless it was the first Dunfermline goal and they scored before half-time. :hmmm: I wasn't at the game itself, that's why I'm struggling with the detail.

EDIT: I think that's the league game at home from 1967/68 which we won 3-2; IIRC, the roof was started towards the end of that season and the terracing was graded and concreted (cheaply) in the close season.

Celtic v Man City 1970. Look at the size of that Hampden crowd.
