John Doyle is hugged by a happy Tim after scoring the winner at Pittodrie in Sept 1979.

Someone on twitter suggested this should be hung in the foyer at Celtic Park to illustrate what a bond the fans and players once had.
Celtic have made many mistakes as regards on the park in recent times but the biggest mistake off the park in the last 20+ years despite the best efforts of Tommy Burns :worthy: has been to let that bond be broken - They are paying the price for it now but the effect is going to be disastrous in years to come.

Whatever else throughout the years the Support always had that special bond with the players - With a few exceptions it has gone now - God forbid but once we have lost The Lions :worthy: and the genuine Good Guys like Danny :worthy: and Davie Hay :worthy: it will be away forever unless the Club gives itself a massive reality check (to paraphrase Fergus) and under the present custodians that won't happen.
Stayed in the same hotel as the team in Salzburg. Apart from Scott Brown they couldnt have made it more obvious they had no interest in the fans. Their attitude bordered on being rude.

Great pic.
Probably posted on this before here but visited Lennoxtown twice in the last year. The only players who got pass marks were Fraser Forster and Biram Kayal. Even our esteemed (old) manager wasnt interested. Danny McGrain waved over, but indicated he couldnt speak as the session was about to begin. He was laying out the cones.
Didier Agathe was there, he had 2 trialists from Reunion over. He was a true gentleman as was John Clark.

I spoke to a Celtic hero up there that day who said the current crop just walk past them in the corridors. He was unsure as to whether they actually knew who he was. We had a chat and my point was that I could maybe understand it if it was a foreign guy like Emilio (Who seems to have a connection with us fans) but as the father of bhoys I would like to think that they would know the situation. There are no excuses for the local guys.

I have absolutely no time for the current team. Thats sad.

Thats pretty sad, but whats even sadder is that its not a new phenomenon

The week leading up to Celtic stopping the Ten, I stood outside Celtic Park to get a Strip signed by all the players and management

Guys like Tom Boyd, Jackie Mac and Henrik were class, couldnt do enough for the fans outside all that week

The downside was that there were guys like Burley, Jackson, Lambert, McLeod, and even Jansen whos demeanour was extremely laboured

In some cases, their attitude verged on being ignorant

I know it can be a chore at times for players, but this was a momentous week for Celtic and each and every day saw fans gather at the park to offer their hopes and support for the coming game vs St Johnstone.

It was an eye opener.

The only excuse is they may have felt pressure that week.

I know I did. Never experienced a game like it and most of us never will again.

Still a season ticket holder at Celtic Park.

Always makes me think of his interview with Smeaton aka "God's gift to Super Heroes" - Jeez - Talk about lambs to the slaughter - I almost felt sorry for that rocket Smeaton.*

Came across that smashing shot recently as a batch of stills offered for sale, there are a few decent images that I will post below St A, apologies if they are yours or if you had intended to post them.
