Celtic support, 1971, supposed to be a famous still from the photographer, Benson and is hanging in an art gallery in Glasgow?
Never quite fathomed why most punters in them days wore collar and ties at the match.

Best suit on for someone to piss down your leg
maybe people didnt really have "casual" clothes then, your work clothes, a good (wedding/funeral) suit and the suit you wore to the fitba!

And most people when they got the chance did a half shift for the overtime on the Saturday morning.

My old man wore a suit collar n tie to the game, he also went tae the pub straight before & after.

Speaking to a uncle last week who was telling me about going fae the Gallowgate to the Hampden in the Sun 7-1 game in 1957.

His Da my Granda gave him a half a crown and he came back wae 15 bob as the Celtic fans were throwing their coats & jackets up in the air with money flying everywhere.

He left at 5-1 incase anybody asked him for their money back

That's very interesting

Is it from a old 70s Celtic View?

I would imagine that all 6 of them carried the Glasgow St Patrick's day parade baton, mibees for St Mary's league of the Cross or similar fraternity of which they were all past Chairmen. ???

Should find out in the Observer Boss  if you dont already know.

Any of you come across this book?
Yes I've got this book Elvis - along with most of the others
I have a copy of one of them but can't remember which one.
Have a feeling it may be 16.

Thank you, for the record, assuming there was a one & a two, was there a four, five etc, if you know what I mean
think it went up to No 20, which was 88 double season.

As good a way to end as any - given the wasteland that followed when the huns bought 9 in a row :nono:
Number 20 was the Centenary Special and then there was a number 21 as Scottish Cup Winners.

21 was the last one published iirc.

Not so sure that is Milan, cop car VW Beetle says "Politie" that is Dutch for police,
The Italians never used foreign cars for Police cars, whereas the dutch never had a national car
apart from a DAF
If it was Italian cops it should say "Polizia"

just a thought :)
