Stayed in the same hotel as the team in Salzburg. Apart from Scott Brown they couldnt have made it more obvious they had no interest in the fans. Their attitude bordered on being rude.
I have interviewed McGrain, Provan, Conroy, Latchford, Lennox, Lynch, Filippi and Crainie for a forthcoming book and to this day they are proud of the bond they had with the fans.

Each of them are adamant they would not have the success they had without the fans' backing and for me it was a humbling experience talking to them.

They are all very modest men and deeply proud of their various careers at Parkhead.

As for the current situation I blame the club. We are employing them so they should be told where to go and where to be.

Marvellous pic. it epitomise what is the celtic for fans, and what was the fans for the players. Many times ago.
I remember the first time i went to CP. the doorman, mr Patrick (i cannot remember the surname) introduce me inside as i told him i came from italy to see celtic, so he told he was in north italy during the 2WW. it was in 88 and i could say the wee man was near to be 70. he was a gentleman, asking to someone inside to call Billy McNeill or someone other to give me a cheerio. Same in 90 as still there was some of the old men about celtic (Caesar, Neilly Mochan, Brian Scott, McStay.....).
no more last time i attend a match at CP. at the door, i asked to meet McNeill (i saw him inside) as i was there to commemorate John Doyle with my group from italy; but the bodyguard told me McNeill isn'it there .....
Celtic is a big club.
Fans are a big family. maybe the biggest in our world. :worthy:
