Cracker, though it looks as if they have yellow tops on under their track suits :ponder:
Is that big McNeil at the back ?
It is Billy McNeill.

I remember Celtic occasionally playing in the early 1970's with a yellow top but I seem to recall it was green shorts and yellow socks - There was probably permutations whereby the wore white shorts - That would tie in with Jimmy Quinn RIP being in the photograph.

It was supposed to be Jock thought it would help against certain teams like Hibs at Easter Road who had green in their strips - Never knew if that was true or not tbh.

One of the best days of my life that. Streaming out of Hampden after the 2 late goals to discover that Rhyme N Reason had won me a fortune in the Grand National.

Did the yellow shirt not have a green collar? Maybe just a warm up shirt?

John Doyle is hugged by a happy Tim after scoring the winner at Pittodrie in Sept 1979.

Someone on twitter suggested this should be hung in the foyer at Celtic Park to illustrate what a bond the fans and players once had.
Celtic have made many mistakes as regards on the park in recent times but the biggest mistake off the park in the last 20+ years despite the best efforts of Tommy Burns :worthy: has been to let that bond be broken - They are paying the price for it now but the effect is going to be disastrous in years to come.

Whatever else throughout the years the Support always had that special bond with the players - With a few exceptions it has gone now - God forbid but once we have lost The Lions :worthy: and the genuine Good Guys like Danny :worthy: and Davie Hay :worthy: it will be away forever unless the Club gives itself a massive reality check (to paraphrase Fergus) and under the present custodians that won't happen.
Stayed in the same hotel as the team in Salzburg. Apart from Scott Brown they couldnt have made it more obvious they had no interest in the fans. Their attitude bordered on being rude.

I have interviewed McGrain, Provan, Conroy, Latchford, Lennox, Lynch, Filippi and Crainie for a forthcoming book and to this day they are proud of the bond they had with the fans.

Each of them are adamant they would not have the success they had without the fans' backing and for me it was a humbling experience talking to them.

They are all very modest men and deeply proud of their various careers at Parkhead.

As for the current situation I blame the club. We are employing them so they should be told where to go and where to be.

Danny Crainie?

Good pal of mine, he has never mentioned it.
