Yes st.anthony, that is the man himself meeting his namesake Joe.

I have met with Anthony and we spoke about football for a couple of hours. He and his brothers were very hospitable and I look forward to including his contribution in the finished book.

Jack Charlton Testimonial???
lot of memories and stories from that trip.

Always remember charlton going off and Gordon McQueen replacing him. Mr Stein moves Jinky into the middle. After that it was priceless. The big eejit was turned inside out on the penalty spot, and since it was a friendly, Jinky didnt shoot, he went round him again. It was cruel at times, but we loved it.

Someone at Leeds thought they should have a pipe band, which was fine, until they played the national anthem while they were right in front of the Celtic support. (you could still take carry outs in then) .

Love these pictures.

Always remember my Dad and his mates disappointment that young McBride never made it.

I'm still wondering is there any Celtic supporters still out there who still have a Leeds Utd scarf from that time.
You used to the odd fan wearing one at Paradise in the early 1970s.
Usual Leeds, within 10 years they playing in a lower league, sadly the midweek friendly's then became Partick Thistle at Firhill in front of 2000 people.
Plus me.
With a certain chap called George McCluskey as your top striker.
